The dingoes descended from dogs. The aboriginese of Australia had dogs as pets many thousands of years ago. Dingoes live in family groups but may gather into bigger packs to hunt large prey. At first, dingoes ate only kangaroos, but when white settlers started to kill off the kangaroos, dingoes began to eat sheep and rabbits. A litter of 4 or 5 young is born in a burrow. Dingoes live in Australia.
