    Highland Park School - Austin, Texas - No, Austin is not in the rainforest, but a group of Steve Banks' students have created a tropical rainforest project. Students identified plants and animals that live in the various layers of the forest. 

    International School Of Tembagapura - Tembagapura, Irian Jaya, Indonesia - This small school on island north of Australia is attended by students from many countries. Many unique plants and animals are found in the tropical rainforests nearby. 

    Thurgood Marshall Middle School - Olympia, Washington - Students in Virginia Reid's class have developed an outstanding site comparing the temperate and tropical rainforests. Mrs. Reid's cabin at Lake Quinault serves as a primary location in the rainforests video and several of her seventh-grade students are featured, too.

Exploring the Tropics - This informative site is especially focused on plant life in the tropical rain forest: rain forest layers, plant adaptations, plant-animal interactions, economic plants, biodiversity, etc.
    Mysterious Journey--Rain Forest - This is an excellent, indepth site which describes the climate, plants, and animals of the tropical rainforest, and also tackles the issues of deforestation, farming, ranching, loss of habitat, and loss of biodiversity. 

    Rainforest Education - This is a large, colorful, family-friendly web site with tons of photos and information about the rainforests of the Americas, including multimedia experiences and fun for kids.

    Rainforest Action Network Kid's Corner - This site includes a video, fun rainforest activities, lots of information, ways you can help save the rainforest, and resources for teachers and students.

    Passport to the Rainforest - This is a site that features video, real-time interactions, the Internet, and hands-on science activities.  There's also a page for educators.

    Journey to Amazonia - Learn about life in the tropical rainforest: in the water, on the land, and in the trees.  Become an Amazon Explorer in a fun interactive game.  The site includes extensive teacher resources.

    Costa Rica Handbook - This extensive site contains information on the land, climate, flora, fauna, conservation and more.

    How Stuff Works--The Rainforest - Travel into the tropical rainforest to see what makes it such a bountiful environment for plants and animals, and why the rainforests are in danger and how this affects us.
